Looooove this place. The food here is absolutely delicious and the staff are kind and friendly. The atmosphere is kind of fun, especially if there is singing or karaoke going on. We always make a stop here at El Nopal after our long hikes or climbs near Sumas border. Just before heading back to Vancouver we always make sure stop for lunch or dinner and wrap up the day with delicious and good quality food. Try Express Burrito and Chicken Steak Fajitas very tasty and satisfying.

Always good! When I can't afford a trip to Southern California I head to Sumas! Update: it's been too long and I have missed Margaritas and really good Mexican food! Dinner out after a long day at work. The staff here is always, efficient and friendly. The food, amazing as always!

My family has been going here for my entire life. Great food, great staff, enchiladas are delicious. They have in house made tortilla chips that are warm and tasty. Margaritas are huge and strong, enjoy responsibly and have fun!

El Nopal Family Mexican Restaurant is the kind of spot that makes you wonder why you ever settled for drive-thru tacos. You walk in and it’s like getting a warm hug from someone’s abuela who’s been simmering sauces since dawn and isn’t letting you leave hungry. The food is bold, fresh, and full of flavor that doesn’t apologize. I had the enchiladas and nearly blacked out from joy. Even the rice and beans tasted like they had a backstory. You can tell everything’s made with actual love, not just whatever was lying around in the kitchen. The vibe is homey and welcoming, the staff treat you like family, and the portions are large enough that your leftovers will still be delicious at 2 a.m. This is what a neighborhood restaurant should feel like. Five stars, and if you don’t order the horchata, you’re doing it wrong.

Still the best Mexican food in the Lower Mainland (BC) and Fraser Valley (BC). Located just across the Huntingdon/Sumas border crossing in Sumas, WA, USA. We've been going here for over 20 years. The food is simply exceptional with tons of flavour. Dishes shown are Acapulco Steak (with garlic prawns, rice, beans and salad) and Enchiladas Suizas (with rice and beans). Lots of food...you will be full if you finish. Great, fast service. Large parking lot out front and many seating options. The food isn't cheap, but good value for taste and amount. Worth making the effort to stop here!

Amazing food and service! This was our first time and the host/server was genuinely friendly and answered all my silly questions. I cannot say enough about the really good salsa with the chips. Be back again soon!

We've been coming here since the 90's and have watched them grow from a little restaurant to where they are today. They always give your money's worth and it's always favorable. I tried the Carne Asada it was full of flavor very well made totally recommend it. My wife had the Chicken Enchiladas and Chicken Chimichanga which was huge and very filling. We ended with the Fried Icecream with Caramel sauce, yummers. We come from Canada to here because it's worth the drive for us because it's right near Abbotsford BC. Just a note after I received my Canada visa Bill I saw that the 62.42 meal actually cost me 86.37 because of exchange rate that's 24.00 more so be prepared for a higher price because of the exchange rate.
